Dear brothers and sisters:
Greetings!
Please submit your contact details at www.alphans.org
Reasons for submitting your contact details:
- This will definitely help us to be more bonded.
- This will also help our dear brothers and sisters to be able to find or locate someone if he/she is foreign to a particular place.
- This can also be a reason for our brothers and sisters who are not able to see each other for a long time due to lack of information to contact each other and bind again.
- This can be one of the means of communication.
Since some of the links in www.alphans.org are open to public then it can be used as one of the tools for recruitment both in undergraduates and in bringing some of the brothers back to active state.

Brother Eric,
I have set-up a new email add at inbox.com for the chapter. I named it alphasigmaphi_manila because we can use this email add for a long term like for other students in other schools inquiries. Setting-up an account in inbox.com is not allowed in the Philippines yet if you have tried. It’s just available for US and Europe. Inbox.com is quite unique, professional and personalized it’s like sending a mail to Alpha Sigma Phi Manila's inbox. The impact of the username is quite different.
If you have any questions just email me back.
Thanks!

Belated Happy Birthday brother Alvin Pablo!
Another birthday celebrant for the 27th of May! And he is no other but a fellow Gamma Rho brother, and the past Alumni President - Bro. Alvin Wesley Pablo, batch 98', he turned 28 yesterday. What more can I say about this guy? A loyal brother, a trusted friend, a colleague, a pal and a partner in crime (Just kidding bro) he he. Well, what more can we ask, just continue serving the Fraternity, keep up the Good work, more free meals from your branch (joke) and Congratulations (soon to be daddy!). We wish you all the blessings in life especially with family, career and endeavors!

Fast recovery for brother Ronald Taruc.

We recently learned that brother Ronald Taruc, Mu Chapter 93’ (Philippine National Police) suffered minor burns in an accident the other day. His son also suffered the same fate. Although we don’t have further details on the accident, they are already out of danger (based on some information we received). The Chapter wishes you a fast recovery so you’ll be back on your feet soon and serve the people.
Get well soon brother!

A Message from brother Momar Mundoc
Dear brother Eric Robles & All:
Good morning? Count me one, as I count myself as an asset and a working Alpha Sig by my own little strength way back in my first day in these Fraternity and up to this day, my commitments and supports are still going strong as I see a brother like YOU and not to mention to the rest I know? My record will show you and speak for myself in-terms of my contributions in our organization, where ever I may be, I always find a way to locate my Brothers/Sisters and start interacting and contributing what I have. I remember our AlphaSigs work in Riyadh Alumni Association, Saudi Arabia. It’s so hard and risky and yet we come up with good results. My sad and unacceptable experience in my operations being in-charge to task as the committee chairman of the Membership Expansion Program? I will not go deeper to these, as I know those “virus” in our group will not help our organization better. Why am I saying this, because I know for sure there are a lot of brothers/sisters who are currently in-active, feel the same way as I did, instead of appreciating we suddenly neglect and abandon them. Brothers/Sisters in this Fraternity, the Fraternity is facing a lot of problems and works to do. I believe those bad experiences are not the solution in forgetting our commitments instead take that as our challenge in facing the future of our Fraternity. Our leaders both on national and locals need your supports and commitments to our brighter future. WE are the Fraternity, each and every ONE of us if you do NONE then we gain NONE.
For those who forgot, let me remind you of our commitments my brothers/sisters in Alpha Sigma Phi that Alpha is for OUR Service, Sigma is for OUR Leadership and Phi for OUR Loyalty. Let's now come together and do something for the betterment of our Fraternity/Sorority. I urge all of us here, to please do something and contribute now, as I can see we are far behind to the other local fraternities, sad to know but it’s real.

"Momongan" attacks Alpha Sigma Phi anew
An individual posted a message on the guestbook of the Gamma Rho Chapter website http://www.geocities.com/alphasigmaphi_pcu saying:
" Alpha Sigma Phi Philippines was not founded by legitimate Alphans f(r)om the U.S.A. They were founded by members of the Upsilon Sigma Phi of UPLB"
True that we were not founded by our counterpart in the US (and we are not claiming it anyway), the second sentence sounds disturbing.
To announce that we were "founded by members of the Upsilon Sigma Phi of UPLB" is misleading, void of facts, and a totally blatant lie!
I can just ignore the message and delete it so that visitors to our website would not have a chance to read it. But for a person who loves this fraternity so much, i chose not to delete it to send a strong message to the one who posted the message that we don't have nothing to hide.
The message is malicious with a very clear intention to discredit the organization. The person who posted the message introduced himself as "Momongan".
"Momongan" does not necessarily imply that the person who posted the message is indeed Manuel Momongan. Sadly, the information cannot be verified so we cannot really point an accusing finger to anyone, unless Manuel Momongan will admit that he is the one who posted the message. Until then, it will remain a mystery whether the one who posted the message is a member of the other fraternity Manuel Momongan organized, or could anybody else who is against or hates our beloved Alpha Sigma Phi
-Allan Tristan Escaño, PCU - Gamma Rho '94
______________________________________________________
Manuel Momongan organized Alpha Sigma Phi in Silliman University, Dumaguete City in 1965. He abandoned the organization for the reason that "he could no longer continue in conscience staying with Alpha Sigma Phi which history and originality were distorted and descerated {desecrated}". He organized another fraternity in 1968 who remained inactive until it was reorganized in year 2000.

The new Administrators!

Dear readers:
I will take this opportunity to introduce to you our new administrators. But first a few words on this project. When this Blog started it was only a pilot project aimed to provide Chapter information and updates on a dynamic way, which means our services will not provide you top level and usual information found on Alpha Sigma Phi’s numerous websites like the organization’s history, structure, by-laws & constitution, and other static information which is very popular already. Therefore this Blog will deliver dynamic information from the grassroots level like internal information e.g. Chapter memorandums, bulletin, personal messages, greetings, commentary, the daily life or other ranting that would be in respect to the whole organization. So far we have visitors from all corners of the Globe like North America, Europe, The Middle East, Asia and Australia. However, they maybe members or just casual readers but what is important is that our services of providing simple and quality information about Alpha Sigma Phi Philippines is reaching them. So in order to upgrade our services we decided to increase postings and information generation. With this respect, I have invited brothers Allan Escaño and Ryan Alejandro to become the new Administrators for this Blog. With their diverse talents and skills in both Mass Communications and I.T., I am optimistic that this Blog will reach its full potential in the years to come.

Brother Gerry Grafia @ ABS-CBN’s XXX: Explosibong, Eksklusibong, Expose!
Brother Gerry Grafia (Gamma Rho 01’) was featured and interviewed at ABS-CBN’s evening program XXX: Explosibong, Eksklusibong, Expose (May 05 - Saturday) for helping a stow away teenager girl from the streets of Pasay. The said girl reportedly stowed away from her house in Laguna and ended up lost in Manila with no relatives or friends to help her. She is now under the custody of the Social Work, which later on will be turned over to her parents.
Brother Gerry has proved how Service and Charity can be done in little ways.
